London locations in Amy, The Story of a Coram Foundling
Hello everyone and greetings from a scorching hot London.
I've just uploaded my vlog on Youtube and it's available to watch now. It shows some of the locations in my novel that some of you might not be too familiar with.
It includes what is left of Coram's Foundling Hospital site. The original buildings were demolished in the 1920's after the new Foundling Hospital was built at Berkhampstead in Hertfordshire. All that is left are some perimeter buildings such as the covered row of colonnades where the foundlings exercised when it rained, and the front reception buildings.
Cavendish Square where Amy is sent to work as a servant. Melbourne House (now the Scottish Office) in Whitehall where Amy went to live after Lady Caroline Ponsonby married William Lamb. The Albany in Piccadilly where she was Lord Byron's housekeeper. Brook Street where she lived with Henry Branham and a quick look at Grosvenor Square.
Some of the audio is a little hard to understand as the London traffic drowned out my voice at times.
Please click on the link below to watch, and feel free to leave any comments or questions about the locations or the book.
